Welcome to Orion Effects, the only source of these classic 70’s images, Now available,
New & Old re-mastered wheels, Custom wheel service, 3D stereoscopic products featuring
3D Business cards and more.
NEW pages, The LIGHTSHOW This is a big set of pages featuring videos of the the wheels
projected, so you can see just what a wheel looks like in action. This will grow
to cover all the available wheels, though it might take a few weeks to complete!
Technical issues with the servers are requiring a rethink on how these pages are
implemented, by all means have a look though.
I now have slides ready to go, in A4 sheets. If you have any special requirements
or preferences, or even recommendations, then please let me know.
Hopefully I will soon be opening up the 3D PRODUCTS pages at last. After some years
I should soon be offering 3D business cards again, also flat photo conversions to
3D such as Wedding pictures and Family Snaps. The business cards have been very popular
previously, and always have a WOW factor that is missing from regular flat cards
(they even get stolen!). The Photo Conversions are great for those special photographs
of weddings, family pets, children, even ancestors!
I also offer the raw wheel materials for those wishing to make their own wheels,
ie glass, bosses and edging. Give me a shout if you need these materials. Our custom
wheel service is for those with artwork and need to get it printed. We are also happy
to distribute wheels on your behalf, send us an email and we can work out a deal.
The launch of the UK Disco Wheel Archive (UKDWA) is imminent. The UKDWA is being
set up to provide a secure storage facility for the artwork of 6” Disco Effect wheels
that have been made since the 1970’s. The music of generations will be safe forever,
but the artwork of many skilled artists is disappearing, never to be seen again.
Future generations will never know what the experience of a 70’s light show looked
like. The archive will house original artwork and wheels as well as digital files
of the effects, and hopefully also include projectors as well. Ultimately it is hoped
that a national art gallery will house and display these items. The Archive will
soon have it’s own website where wheels can be viewed.
Keep an eye on this page, as there
is more exciting stuff coming very soon.
